Editorial Reviews From School Library Journal Grade 48 21 These tales are nicely formatted: full-page woodcuts, finely lined with navy blue and beige open every story, and simple one-ton figure appears at the end, all on high quality paper demon in the freezer djvu. Garner was true to the oral tradition of the early days demon in the freezer djvu. These stories are for the ear than the eye, the action plays out through physical action and repetition (often in verse), with the language, full of unusual expressions and dialect, in addition to the authentic style. Most (except for "Tom Tit Tot," "Kate Crackernuts" and "Mally Whuppy") are not found in the current collections. Many are the superstitions of the poor and middle peasant folk in rural England and the belief in witches and goblins. In his introduction, Garner explains why the traditional stories of fantastic and supernatural literature for children and youth are from the mid-19th Century referenced. Sources are given for the stories in this collection. Excellent material for reading aloud, and to tell at all for the pleasure of reading.
